Offering distinctive Christian education for Preschool through Grade 5

Olivet New Church School is an independent church school operated by the Olivet Church. We offer a distinctive Christian elementary education for our students, emphasizing the fulfilment of each child's potential by carefully integrating natural, moral and spiritual material throughout the curriculum. Small classes also enable us to offer a balanced learning program within a loving family atmosphere.

From its beginning in 1893, Olivet New Church School has served as an extension of the homes of those who share our convictions about the Lord, His Word, the life of genuine charity, and the wonders of life after death. We are very conscious of the importance of a real partnership between parents and teachers so that the children have the security and confidence of consistency throughout their education, especially in religious matters. We are a family oriented school in which the staff encourages and nurtures the whole child.

The mission of the Olivet New Church School is to help parents prepare their children for a fulfilling, useful life on earth and in heaven in the light of the doctrines of the New Christian Church. This will be done by means of instruction in age appropriate forms of knowledge of the natural and spiritual worlds, and by means of loving guidance calculated to instill a lasting affection for what is good and true from the Lord in all of creation.

Our particular vision is that the children will grow up to love and acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as He has revealed Himself in the Old and New Testaments and in the Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, and that they will reap and share the benefits of life according to His Word.

 

Our emblem depicts the opening of the Lord's Word. This opening symbolizes the new revelation of a deeper meaning within the teachings of the Old and New Testaments, as revealed to us by the Lord through his servant, Emanuel Swedenborg.

 

With these new truths, as well as the teachings from the Old and New Testaments, we can go forward with strength and courage, knowing that the Lord is with us and leading us, to meet the challenges that life will present.
