Pastor's Welcome

Dear Friends,

Do you need a fresh perspective for your spiritual life? If so, we would like to welcome you to a whole new way of thinking about religion and Christianity.

The Olivet Church is based on a new way of viewing the Old and New Testament Scriptures as revealed through the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg. Through this new revelation, the Lord Jesus Christ provides us with answers to the fundamental questions asked by every human being sometime in his/her life – matters such as the nature of our Creator, the purpose of our existence, and the reality of eternal life. The mission of the Olivet Church is to help you learn to love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul, and to love your neighbour as yourself. These two ideas are the basis of the whole of the Lord's Word.

You are warmly welcomed to visit and attend any of our services and classes. We worship every Sunday morning at 10:30. We also offer many interesting small groups and classes during the school year.

Or, if you are looking for a source for books relating to Emanuel Swedenborg and the New Church, we are the Canadian source for these and other materials. Please visit our online bookstore at www.swedenborg.ca

Spiritual education for the whole family…come and see what the Olivet Church can do for you!

How Can We Help You?

At the Olivet Church, our goal is to help provide the resources and support you need to understand and improve your life. We strive to achieve this goal by offering many forms of spiritual education, such as Wednesday evening suppers and classes, introductory classes, book studies, and sharing groups. We offer groups for men, women, youth, Sunday School, nursery and many social events for all ages. In learning together we find opportunities for building relationships, enhancing personal growth, and engaging in thoughtful discussion of life’s challenges.

You do not have to belong to the Olivet Church to participate in any of our events or programs. Everyone is welcome!

If you want to learn more, please stop by for a visit, phone us at (416-239-3054) or visit the Swedenborg Book Centre (416-233-3929), also located at the church.

Are you concerned about your children's education?

The Olivet New Church School is an elementary school (jk – grade 5) operated by the Olivet Church in order to provide a spiritual context for all learning. A standard curriculum, based on provincial Ministry of Education guidelines, is supplemented by many special programs, field trips, and enriched learning opportunities. Small classes ensure careful attention to the needs of individual students, and multi-grade classrooms provide a family-like atmosphere. A children’s library and state-of-the-art computer lab are significant features of our facility. The careful integration of religion with life and learning provides the foundation of our work with students.

Come and see what the Olivet New Church School can do for you and your children! You are welcome to visit the school (by appointment), phone us for more information (416-239-3054), or check out www.newchurch.org/societies/toronto/school. We are glad to send you a school handbook, general curriculum guide, and a more complete summary of our spiritual principles.

Our staff members look forward to answering any of your questions.
