The purpose of the Children’s Ministries at the New Church of Boulder Valley is to support each child’s journey in: loving the Lord, having confidence in the Lord’s loving presence and serving the neighbor.

As part of our ministries we have a Sunday School Program. This consists of 5 groups of children. There is a class for our youngest students which we affectionately refer to as the Lambs. They are the 3 to 5 year olds. Then we have a group we refer to as the Calves. They are the Kindergarten through second graders. Those two groups each have a teacher, and a teacher’s assistant. Next we have a group called the Colts. They are Third through Sixth graders. Once the children finish 6th grade they move into our Teen Program, which is divided into two sections for younger teens and older teens. Those programs each have their own teacher.

The Lambs, Calves and Colts Sunday School groups are following a curriculum we found through the General Church’s Office of Education that is called Jacob’s Ladder. Each week the children are taught a story from the Bible, then complete a project about that story. The lessons also include time for discussion, songs and prayers. It is a combination that is fun and relaxed, and let’s the children experience a sense of wonder and excitement as they learn the stories of the Lord’s Word.
