The Lord heals people from His Divine power, for He is all-powerful or omnipotent. When we turn to Him, He can make us whole. When the Lord was on earth, He healed those who demonstrated their faith by their words or their actions. This is because faith is an acknowledgement of the Divinity of the Lord and His power to heal and save. Every disease or disability treated by the Lord portrays something harmful to our spiritual life which can be healed through our cooperation with Him.

A disability the Lord healed frequently while on earth was physical blindness. In these miracles the Lord made it possible for people to see their loved ones and the beauty of nature. The stories about healing the blind actually represent the way the Lord can heal our spiritual blindness or ignorance. We all need His help to shine the light of heaven on the darkness of our own limited perspective. Just as the blind trusted in the Lord to restore their sight, we need to have confidence in His power to dispel our darkness and show us the light of truth.
