Topics:

  • The Power of One: Giving Your Gifts and Encouraging Others to Do the Same - In this workshop we will be looking at how to empower every person, including ourselves, to give our gifts fully. How do you make volunteer uses at your church be something people are excited to do? How do you help people to be serving in areas that they have energy in? How can you encourage and support people in uses? Are you serving the Lord to your fullest potential? What's holding you back from giving your gifts fully? How can you be the servant that the Lord wants you to be?

Logistics: This has been presented as a 75 minute workshop. It could easily be longer. Or it could focus in and be shorter. Areas such as volunteers uses, delegation, and management could be brought out into more specific focused sessions.

Audience: This workshop was originally oriented to an audience of involved New Church people, both those in leadership and also congregation members.

    Type: Overhead projector, interactive.

  • Assimilation: After they come in the front door (taught with David Roth) - People have been attracted to come to your church, now what? How do you help people to feel comfortable on their first time visit and then integrate them into the community? How do you follow-up the worship service? This workshop focuses on assimilating people into the life of the church and building community.

Logistics: Ideally this is a 2 + hour workshop.

Audience: Those working in leadership of a congregation and involved congregation members.

Type: PowerPoint presentation and some interaction.

  • New Church Evangelization: An Overview - This presentation looks at evangelization on the individual level, the congregational level and the world-wide level. The focus is on how congregations can be actively doing the work of evangelization. Logistics: 1 ½ hours.

    Audience: New Church congregation members

    Type: Power point and interaction.

  • Training Greeters, Ushers and Book Table Attendants - This workshop is designed to work with the people who interact with first time church attenders. The purpose of the workshop is to train volunteers to be confident and comfortable in explaining the New Church, welcoming people into the church, helping them find a book, connecting with other people, etc.

    Logistics: 1-2 hours

    Audience: Congregation volunteers

    Type: Power point, interactive.
