Elizabeth Moraux is a student at Bryn Athyn College of the New Church. She found the New Church last year when she worked with the Dining Hall in Bryn Athyn and got to see first hand what the College was like by getting to know some of the teachers and students.
Her interest in the college turned into interest in the New Church, and she is now enjoying learning about the Writings in her classes. When I asked Liz what it was that first attracted her to the New Church she answered,
"The first thing that attracted me to the New Church was how easy it was to understand everything. It just all made sense. One thing that had always puzzled me until I came here was the explanation of God in my church- how He was three separate entities. I learned through this religion what I had always felt in my heart to be true, that God is one."
Liz is currently reading Conjugial Love, and she says that she loves what she has read so far. In response to her readings, she says, "I really agree with the idea that there is one person for us that we were made for, and that marriages last forever, even in heaven." Liz is excited for the growth of the church. In her opinion the New Church should try to evangelize by interacting with other churches from other religions. Her hope for the future is that the New Church expands, because "it's a wonderful religion." Her hope for herself is to "keep learning more New Church teachings because who knows where God will lead me."
