Building Healthy Relationships Conclusion

Celebrate the Lord's Power

"And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes." (Matthew 7: 28-29 NKJV™)

The people who listened to the Sermon on the Mount were amazed at the power of Jesus' teaching. We hope that during the last six weeks you have experienced some measure of the amazing power of the Lord's words. We invite you to observe any small steps forward you have taken in your spiritual journey over the past few weeks that might be cause for celebrating today.

The principles we have focused on for the past six weeks are the Lord’s own teachings about how to love. They provide a very strong foundation for building healthy relationships. It will still take many more weeks, months and years of continuous work for you to become a person who can always relate to others with integrity and love. The question is, how will you continue to apply the truths we have learned here to your life?

Today you have an opportunity to continue to build healthy relationships. Continue to find the Lord's blessings in your daily life. Reflect on your life and identify issues that need work. Pray daily to stay connected with the Lord. Continue to give heavenly things priority over worldly things. Forgive and be forgiven. Accept opportunities to share your gifts with others. Do all these things with the acknowledgement that it is really the Lord who does it all.

If you do these things, your life will have increased fulfillment and joy. You may go through conflict and yet you will have the tools to come out the other side with even stronger relationships. You will increase your experience of genuine love and friendship. And you will open yourself up to a close and powerful relationship with the Lord.
