Living your Religion — Spiritual Growth with the New Church

The New Church offers a variety of programs designed to assist people in applying God's teachings to their everyday lives. Using step-by-step modules, these courses guide participants towards becoming more spiritually evolved human beings. Whether you are participating within a group framework or on your own, this site is your link to program materials for these programs.

Your spiritual growth is your own personal journey. Our spiritual growth programs are collectively referred to as Journey Programs. We intend to add additional Journey programs to the set year after year.

Our newest Journey Program, Pause: Make Space for God, is a seven-week program which will be introduced in October 2010. This program provides tools to support purposefully building our relationship with God throughout our daily lives.

The Journey Program introduced in 2009, Living Courageously, is a seven-week program focusing on deeper meanings within the story of Elijah, and using that knowledge to help participants make positive changes in everyday life.

Building Healthy Relationships, a Journey Program introduced in 2008, is a seven-week program that focuses on the story of the Sermon on the Mount.

The original Journey to Freedom course is an eight-week program focusing on the deeper meanings of the Exodus biblical stories.

The Foundations program is a seven-week introduction to New Church teachings, guiding participants into a deeper understanding of God's Word.

An additional program, Rise Above It, follows the spiritual lessons contained within the Ten Commandments, teaching participants to rise above daily trials through developing into their higher selves. The program draws on wisdom from many different religions and provides practical tools for personal growth. This program, which was run in 2006, is not available online. You can visit www.riseaboveit.org for more information.

In addition to the online resources presented here, workbooks for these programs are available at New Church Bookstore Online. We also maintain a physical presence for workbooks and other materials in a bookroom at the beautiful Bryn Athyn Cathedral.
