Worship

Back

Going to church, praying to the Lord, and reading or hearing His Word are important. But unless we also serve our neighbors, community, and country with a loving heart, we are not truly worshiping the Lord. For we worship the Lord with heart and mind when we obey His commandments by living a life of charity to the neighbor.

Worship in Your Home

  • Have a simple worship service: open the Lord’s Word, say the Lord’s Prayer, read a passage from the Word, and sing a song. (Note: If you have worship with young children, you will want to keep this quite short.)
  • Parents with young children may want to incorporate family worship with putting young children to bed. Kneel beside the bed together and say the Prayer. Then tuck the children into their beds and read or retell a story from the Word. Sing a religious song together or let the children choose a favorite song for you to sing to them.
