Curriculum
The curriculum for General Church Schools engages students in learning about the world around them in light of New Church teachings. It also enables the building of skills that will help students to share their talents. The updated curriculum meets requirements for U.S. National Standards at each grade level.
Consultation Services
The Office of Education provides educational home school consultation services via telephone and e-mail to registered families who participate in subscription-based home school programs. Consultation includes questions about the General Church Schools curriculum, resources available from the Office of Education and other routine matters. Parents wanting additional assistance may request a referral to a qualified consultant.
Unit Box Program
The Unit Box Program is a lending library of resource materials supporting a New Church curriculum for children ages 5-14/U.S. grades K-8. Materials include teacher notebooks, books, videos and artifacts, and a lending library of educational books for teachers.
Standardized Achievement Testing
Standardized achievement testing provides registered parents with an opportunity to measure their children’s academic progress against U.S. national norms by means of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.
