Resources for Teachers
For over a hundred years, men and women of the New Church have worked to provide an education that looks to the Word of the Lord for its principles and life. New Church education addresses the harmonious relationship between spiritual and natural things. It acknowledges the Divine Law of the Ten Commandments which leads to a life of service. It is based on the belief that the Lord's purpose in creation is for each human being to become an angel of heaven. Therefore, the primary goal of a New Church teacher is to help students learn, love, and live the teachings of the Lord God Jesus Christ as revealed in the Old and New Testaments and the Heavenly Doctrines of the New Jerusalem.
To assist teachers in this role, the General Church Office of Education offers a number of resources that have been developed over the years by past and present New Church educators.
