Gauteng, 2054. Tel 011 804 1145. The New Church Buccleuch is the only English–language New Church congregation in Gauteng and in the former Transvaal. Its members and friends, both black and white, come from the West Rand, the northern suburbs of Joburg, the East Rand, Sandton, Midrand, Centurion and Pretoria/Tshwane. They come together and meet every Sunday morning at 9.30am for church in Buccleuch. Our service is very simple, almost informal. After the opening prayers, we have a children’s talk, with the children gathering at the front of the church for the talk, after which they leave for Sunday School. The adult part of the service follows with readings from the Word and an adult talk. We celebrate the Holy Supper once a month. Each week after worship we stay and visit, often at length, over tea.
