A person is drawn out of hell and elevated into heaven when he conquers in temptations, or combats against evils. Doctrine of Life 33

Application: The Lord set our lives up so that we have temptations and He also arranged it so that we can conquer in those temptations. Don't despair when temptations occur. Feeling tempted isn't failure. Remember that regeneration is a series of these combats and that the Lord is there to help us fight the evil and get us through it all.

Application: There is a difference between reading what is true and living what is true. Think of five specific actions you can do today to follow the Lord and lead a life of charity.

Application: The Lord leaves us in complete spiritual freedom to follow Him if we will. Regeneration is the process of continually choosing Him. Be aware of the choices that you make in your day. You might keep a journal. Noticing our evil choices shows us what to work on; noticing our good choices allows us to see our progress toward the Lord.

Divine Providence has for its end a heaven from the human race. Divine Providence 58

Application: The whole point of our relationships, our jobs, even our mundane tasks, like mowing the lawn, is to provide opportunities for us to grow. Look at these relationships and tasks in your life and make a list of possible ways to remind yourself that the reason we are here in the first place is to serve the Lord and to help Him build a heaven of the human race.

For those are angels who take delight in the happiness of all and long for the salvation of all. Spiritual Experience 336

Application: Like the angels, wishing well and doing good for others makes us happier than if we only think of ourselves. Take time out of your day to mediate on and delight in the interior beauty of some of the people you know and love. Do a secret act of kindness for one of those people.
