- Who is Saved?
At times the Bible seems to say we are justified by our works, not by faith (Matthew 7:21). And yet at other times we are justified by faith, and not by works (John 3:16). Which is it that saves us?
- What does the New Church teach about Salvation?
The Lord by His life on earth made the way clear so that we may do the work, with Him, of changing our character from one that is selfish, self centered, inconsiderate and fearful (living in a hellish way) to one that is kind, giving, generous and confident in the Lord (living in a heavenly way).
- Why do Bad Things Happen?
... Sometimes it seems impossible to understand God’s reasons. We might wonder whether He wants us to know His plans. We might say, “Truly You are a God who hides Yourself” (Isaiah 45:15). There is no doubt that we are limited in our understanding of the Lord’s working. Perhaps we hurt so deeply we feel no explanation can right the wrong. We may be so angry that we don’t want to hear His will. Yet the Lord does care about us and does want us to understand Him. In spite of heart-wrenching situations, we can know some very important truths about His providence, if we are willing.
- Who Goes to Heaven?
New Christianity teaches that all people of all faiths will go to heaven if they believe in one God and live in charity and kindness according to the principles of their religious persuasion.
- Are We Judged by God?
The Lord by His life on earth made the way clear so that we may do the work, with Him, of changing our character from one that is selfish, self centered, inconsiderate and fearful (living in a hellish way) to one that is kind, giving, generous and confident in the Lord (living in a heavenly way). This is a process and it takes time – a lifetime.
