What denomination is the New Church?

The New Church does not fit into existing denominational categories such as Protestant or Catholic. Some people call the New Church a new denomination, Swedenborgian, because it is Christian yet has many new perspectives on Christianity. Some people call it a new religion, because the ideas are so new and based on a new body of revelation given through Emanuel Swedenborg.

Based on the Holy Bible, The New Church gains further inspiration and understanding through the teachings of 18th century scientist and theologian Emanuel Swedenborg. In his 35 volumes of theology, Swedenborg helps set forth the Lord's plan for a rebirth of Christianity, a clear vision of God in His own Word, and what that means in our lives.
