• Changing Lives: Kai Abelkis story

  People ask me, how did I find the New Church? In many ways I feel that the New Church found me. My wife, Linda, and I were living down the street from a New Church (though we didn’t know it). We were newly married, without any children, and had been exploring different religions. I was raised Lutheran, and she was raised Church of Christ. For a number of reasons, neither of those churches resonated with us personally, and so we wandered, like the Children of Israel, trying to find our path. We were committed to finding something.

• Take Steps to Know God Today

  At a young age I was asked, "Do you know Jesus," "do you know the Lord?" "I think so," I answered with childlike unknowing. Little did I know my friend's intent was to "lead me to Jesus" and rest assured that I was "saved."

• Faith In Action:

  The truths we learn from the Word are like a mirror in which we behold the face of God. True Christian Religion 6

  Application: Passages from the Word can vary in their clarity to the reader. All passages in the Wod reflect God. Take time to read from the Old or New Testaments. What are they telling you about God? About how God cares for you? What particular message is He trying to convey?
